Adventures with the Ross Family: RRSK: Letter Aa (Angry Birds!)

Jax is 4 years old!

This is our first week on RRSK, and we are loving it! We are reviewing the letter Aa and our theme this week was Angry Birds!

We first made an Angry Bird hat. I got this idea from Jax's Sunday School class. Him and his little friends are into making "hats" out of construction paper and then glueing some random items on them. Every week they are so proud fo them! I found this (Free) Angry Bird Template from Planning with Party Animal. Her DIY was making Angry Bird balloons, but this worked perfectly for what we were doing!

We worked on our colors with the Angry Bird Matching Descriptive Sentences from 1+1+1=1 in the Kindergarten Printables.

We traced and colored our Bible verse from RRSK. ("A soft answer turns away wrath." Proverbs 15:1)

We played Angry Birds~Spring is in the Air many, many times!

We worked on the Ordering Numbers Worksheet (Finding the Missing Number) from the Angry Birds Kindergarten Printables.

We are reviewing our YCR #1 sightwords this week. He matched the puzzles to the words. And he did great, he knew all four words without any prompting!

We sorted Angry Birds and pigs in the Angry Birds Kindergarten Printables.

This was our first time working on the YCR #1 word search. We used letters from Melissa and Doug See and Spell puzzle. I thought this would help Jax "see" the words in the word search and it did!

We worked on identifying coins on the Angry Bird Kindergarten Printables. Right now he gets the nickels and dimes names mixed up. But he sure knows that quarters are for getting candy out of the machines at the mall!

He counted the Angry Birds and matched them with number magnets. We also talked about which color of Angry Bird was the "most" and which one was the "least." This is a new concept for Jax to understand.
