5 Years Old {Jax}

Well.  How did this happen?

There I was holding him for the first time in my arms, and poof!  I'm now registering him for Kindergarten.

Time flies when you are having fun!

Jax is a very sweet boy.  He's a really good big brother to Julie.  And yes, they do fight, but today when Julie wanted a book read to her, he asked her, "Baby do you want me to read for you?"  She enthusiastically said "uh-huh!" and he read three board books to her.  Way too cute.

But before you get the idea that he is the perfect big brother, he also invented a game called "Push Baby."  It involves running "the circle hallway" around the house and pushing Julie when he catches up to her.  She doesn't seem to mind, but I'm sure there is other games to play that she would enjoy more.  So that game has been banned from this house.

He loves, loves, loves Sunday School.  I think his favorite part is the when he gets to sing with Ms. Geri.  He knows all the motions to the songs and the words!  I think he is counting down the days until he can join children's choir and church and ring some handbells.

He is obsesed with all thing Angry Birds.  And Star Wars.  Even better...Angry Bird Star Wars!

He's starting to get into Legos as well.  Those things are tiny.  They about drive me to go and get some bifocals so I can see them!

He's also into YouTube.  There is one channel that he loves.  It's a boy about his age the reviews Angry Bird toys.  I'm not even kidding.  So now Jaxson has taken on pretending to do videos and will review his toys.

He is very excited to go to Kindergarten.  Me?  Not so much.  But I know it will be so good for him.  He will loves to learn and will have so much fun making new friends.  In Tot School, he loves to read and art.  Letters have always come very naturally to him so when we started working on sight words, he picked it right up.  His least favorite subject is math.  He just does not care about those numbers no matter how I present it to him.  But I can't blame him.  Justin and I are the same way.  We love to read.  Math?  Eh.

He's also very logical.  When he found out that Santa came down the chiminey he looked at me quizically and asked why Santa doesn't use the front door.  I told him he had a good idea and that would be smart of Santa.  Or when he was told that Jesus lived in his heart, he really thought there was a person in his heart.  And when he had a cut on his finger he told me that Jesus would have to walk from his heart down his arm and to his hand in order to heal it.  I didn't know what to say with that one-so I just went with that story.

Here's a trip down memory lane....

Happy Birthday Jax!  We love you so much!
