Jax is 4 years old.
This week we worked on the Letter Ee and Ee is for Earth! We learned that the about the Earth in general and also ways to take care of the Earth. (I guess we are a little late for Earth Day!) As always, the sources for what we did are at the end of the post.
We started out this week on our sight words from You Can Read #1 and #2. I actually made this worksheet myself. I got the idea from Kindergarten...Kindergarten. I needed to make my own because some of the sight words on her worksheets were not in the same order as we are learning in YCR.
Basically, Jax just had to cut out the letters and glue them onto correct row. He loved this and helped reinforce "and" and "can" since he can get those confused.
(If anyone's interested, you can download the worksheet here.)
1. We worked on cutting and taping the Bible verse from RRSK. "Even a child is known by his deeds." Proverbs 20:112. We played the recycling game from Lakeshore Learning.
3. Phonics sounds with RRSK.
4. Drawing pictures that start with the letter Ee. He could only think of "elephant" and "elevator."
5. I've gone back to RRSP for the Bible verse coloring page. This is so helpful in explaining the Bible verse to Jax. It's more of a conversation starter to get him talking about the Bible verse.
6. We used the Rainforest Clip and Learn Wheel to count.
7. I put the Letter Ee Maze on a cookie sheet and had Jax mark off the letter Ee's with pom-poms glued to magnets.
8. Jax loves to glue his Bible verse. We always sing the song to get the words in the correct order.
9. I made another worksheet using his currect sight words. I printed them out in a size 8 font so he would have to use the magnifying glass to read them. Anything with a magnifying glass is fun for him!
We did all that is listed in the sources even though I didn't get pictures of everything!
I'm linking to Preschool Corner at Homeschool Creations!
